Frequently Asked Questions
How can I book a free 15 minute consultation call?
You can book a free 15 minute initial consultation call with me here:
What happens at my consultation call?
This gives you an opportunity to get an idea of how we can work together, to ask any questions you might have and for us to discuss what is bringing you to therapy.
If you feel ready to make an appointment at the end of this free call we will, though there is no obligation to do so. The most important thing is that you find the right therapist for you.
How much does therapy cost and how can I make payment?
Each session after your free consultation costs £75.
Payments must be made via BACS 48 hours before each session to secure your slot. If payment is not made prior to the session, I will not be able to confirm the slot for you.
Can you tell me more about sessions?
A therapy session lasts 50 minutes. Sessions are done remotely via MS Teams. Limited sessions will be available face to face in Hitchin, Hertfordshire from January 2025.
Everyone's different, so the number of sessions can vary. This is your therapy so we’ll work at a pace that suits you.
How often will my appointments be?
Appointments will initially be weekly as we develop a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship and explore the difficulties you’ve been experiencing. As treatment progresses and you begin to have a better understanding of how to use CBT more, we can increase the time between your appointments.
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based & well researched talking therapy. It is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for many mental health problems.
It is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for many other mental and physical health problems.
CBT focuses upon how your thoughts and behaviours impact upon your emotions and physical symptoms.
CBT is collaborative treatment and typically involves doing homework tasks between appointments.
It aims to teach you to become your own therapist, teaching you tools so you can keep using the strategies and techniques you have learned after you have finished therapy.
