About me
Hello, I’m Daniella, an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and mum of two.
I’m a Bedfordshire-based therapist originally from the warm, sunny twin island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. I studied Psychology in Barbados, spent some time in Massachusetts, USA for a clinical internship and then moved to the UK to pursue my M.Sc. in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Living and learning about different cultures has helped me to become a more inclusive, culturally adaptive therapist.
I have over 17 years of experience working in mental health. I’ve worked in residential where I supported children and young adults; academia as a Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor at Goldsmiths, University of London; and in the NHS for many years as CBT Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Perinatal Lead.
As a therapist I am:
- collaborative
- compassionate
- curious
- culturally informed
The work that I do
I have extensive experience working with depression, trauma, generalised anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety, self-esteem and long-term health conditions.
Helping you to navigate motherhood
As a psychotherapist for mums, I’m here to support you wherever you are on your journey. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety during pregnancy, hoping to process your birth trauma, post-natal depression, or maybe you’re struggling with mum guilt or adjusting motherhood, I’m committed to supporting and empowering you.
I work with all women, embracing our diverse experiences and backgrounds. As a Caribbean woman, I know that diversity matters and that’s why I’m passionate about black maternal mental healthcare and supporting Black, Asian and Caribbean mamas.
Motherhood can be a rollercoaster of emotions and it’s a big change to our identity, let’s work together to overcome your difficulties.
Helping you to navigate life with food allergies
When your food allergy anxiety interferes with the person you want to be and the way you want to live your life, it becomes a problem.
As a mother of a child with multiple food allergies (dairy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts) and eczema, I understand the overwhelming impact living with allergies can have.
As an food allergy informed therapist, I can help you learn the tools to navigate food allergies - through diagnosis and testing, oral food challenges or introductions, starting school, social events and more - so that you can thrive and live a more rich and meaningful life.
